Stainless steel sculptor Natalie Krol stands by the Culver City sculpture donated to sister city
When the Nichibo girls from Kaizuka, Japan won the Olympic gold medal for being the best women's volley ball team in the world, the girls were taken on a tour of the U.S.A. When they arrived in Culver City, CA (home of the film industry) they were treated royally. The Kaizuka fathers were so impressed with this gracious treatment that they immediately invited Culver City to become their sister city. They sent a gift of a great meditation garden. In return for such a special gift, I was asked to create a sculpture.

I presented the Culver City council with my concept for Friendship’s Tie. They agreed on the project unanimously and my work was cut for me.
